Shoko Numao is a vocalist/singer-songwriter (writing both words and music) who performs her own songs while playing guitar. She studied vocal music and composition, with a main focus on jazz, at Dublin City University in Ireland, returning to Japan in 2021. Numao’s musical activities have been expanding: in addition to her work as a soloist, she performs in ephemeron, her duo project with Shunpei Ito, and in the quartet Uquwa with Fumi Endo, Masataka Abe and Yoshinori Shiraishi.

Yoshinori Shiraishi is a jazz drummer based in Japan. The chair of Yoshinori Shiraishi BALLROOM Orchestra and a member of the dance company CAT-A-TAC. In addition to performing with musicians from Japan and outside of Japan, he interacts musically with various artists working in other art scenes such as videographers, dancers, and actors. He actively works on taking part in theatrical arts, providing music and so on.

Shoko Numao and Yoshinori Shiraishi performed at aire ameno, Tokyo, on December 17, 2023, as the 4th concert of Shiraishi's project 'Drums Unlimited'. Numao sang and played guitar while Shiraishi played his blanket drums set which is his collection of objects making sounds such as cymbals, African instruments, children's toys, and some electric devices put on the blanket. Five Numao's tunes and one Shiraishi's tune were played without any MC gaps between each tune throughout the concert. Now the order of the tunes was rearranged and almost the entire concert was recorded on this album.
